Final Posters - Set Of Three

This is the final set of three posters. They are all consistent with each other and work together.

Final Poster 01

This is one of the final posters. The main text colour and the logo text colour has been changed and the co-operative slogan has been added so it is clear that the film festival is by the co-op. Next i have to make to other posters than are consistent witht this design so all three posters work as set.

Poster Development 04

This is the final background that I have designed. The colours work much better and the gradient adds a dramatic, cinematic feel to the posters to reflect the main purpose of the poster. The logo needs changing so the text can be read and the writing at the bottom does not stand out. It needs to be changed to the gradient colour at the top of the poster. The font that has been used for the main copy work as it looks like the writing on a film poster and is consistent with the text on the sign.

Poster Development 03

A texture has been added on this background. Even though it is only subtle is still has an impact. Also lights have been added, these are faded out but can still be seen. These add to the cinema and film feel of the poster and add more detail to the poster. To improve this poster a bigger gradient needs to be added, the poster needs to be really dark at the bottom, (nearly black,) and slowly fade into a lighter colour.

Poster Development 02

The perspective on this poster is a lot better. Having the skew on the sign adds depth. However even though I have improved the way the objects look the background is still not working. The darker colours are more powerful as they grab your attention and contrast with the objects. I think for the background to work it needs a texture adding to it so it fits in with the texture of the cardboard.

Poster Development 01

Using the cardboard objects that I created, this is my first idea. I think using objects that have been made adds depth to the poster but I think perspective needs to be added as well to make the poster look even more 3D.
Another improvement for this poster would be to change the background. I don't think a solid coloured background works. maybe it would work better with the lights that were used on one of the poster mock ups were put on the background.
The patterns in the background break up the blank space and add to the cut and paste style, I think the patterns add to the poster.

Poster Style

After looking at many different styles for both film festival posters and posters aimed at the target audience, I still really like the idea of creating a cut and paste style using various objects that are related to film.

This image is one that still sticks in my head and I really like the perspective and style it uses. However I still think the style still looks really flat and would not appeal to the audience.

The approach I have decided to use for the assets that will be used throughout the campaigns is to make objects related to film out of cardboard. These objects will be made really big and once they are made will be photographed to be edited to be used throughout the campaign.

The reason why I have decided to go for this approach is because it will still allow the campaign to have a cut and paste style about it but it will be look 3D and add depth to the posters, therefore making them more appealing.
